Kap-R is screen capture utility. There are other screen capture utilities out there. Probably a zillion. But, alas, they didn't meet our specific needs. We didn't want to charge up a large graphics program to do our screen captures. Also we didn't like the idea of having to save the files to disk after they were captured. Kap-R does what we want -- and no more.
We happen to volunteer time for the Newbie dot Org website at http://www.newbie.org
As part of the website development we found ourselves capturing many screen shots to make mini-movies for display. This utility makes that easier.
Basically we've written this program for our own use. If you find it of value...good.
There are some simple rules to assessing the value of any program.
1) If you enjoy the program, use it.
2) If you don't enjoy the program, don't use it.
3) If you notice benefit from the program, continue using it.
4) If you don't notice any benefit from the program, discontinue it's use.
5) If you enjoy the program a whole bingy-bunch, give us a call and see what else we might have that you'd enjoy.

If our program smokes your computer email support@microsoft.com. If those guys had given us a platform to develop in, such that one didn't have to run the stupid program on every piece of hardware with every conceivable installation history possible then perhaps we could deliver software with fewer bugs. At this writing we seem to have eliminated the more obvious bugs. So if you happen to have the exact same hardware and work-habits as we do, you will most likely encounter zero bugs. If you have different hardware or work differently or have a slightly different installation of Windows there is a good change you will encounter a bug. Let us know and we'll fix whatever we can.
Bottom line the program is cheap. If you don't like it, don't use it. We'll even refund any money you may have paid to us for the program. If you bought the program from someone else then talk to them about a refund. If they won't give you a refund figure you've learned a cheap lesson. Better to have been stiffed with a cheap program then to have purchased one of those really expensive programs and then be stiffed.
If after consulting this help manual and our website you still experience problems with the program consider the rather ancient joke:
Patient: "Doctor, doctor, it hurts when I go like that."
Doctor: "Well, don't go like that."
As time permits we might even expand the help file.
